Southern California had the highest reported spot power price at $40.19/MWh

Southern California had the highest reported spot power price at $40.19/MWh.

The Northwest had the lowest reported spot power price at $23.85/MWh.       

Regional spot natural gas prices ranged from $1.30/mmBtu in the Mid-Atlantic to $3.05/mmBtu in Northern California.

Southern California had the nation’s highest spark spread at $21.09/MWh.     

Nymex energy futures prices for October delivery of natural gas and coal were listed at $2.59/mmBtu and $42.23/ton respectively.
