Tom Coad has been named vice president of Distribution Operations for AEP Texas, effective Aug. 17. Coad is currently manager of distribution systems in the Rio Grande Valley District.
Coad graduated from The Ohio State University with an electrical engineering degree in 1986. He began his career at AEP in 1988 at Columbus Southern Power, moving to distribution operations engineer in 1999 and supervisor of distribution systems for the underground network group in Columbus in 2001. Coad moved to Laredo as a manager of distribution systems in 2003 and on to his current position in the Rio Grande Valley in 2010.
Coad and his wife, Kathleen, have one child, Tierney. He will be residing in Corpus Christi in his new position.
